Matt Kostelnik
Matt is as versatile an athlete as there is. Excelling in three sports, his sports year began with football. At Avon Lake High School, Matt earned All SWC, All Lorain County, All District and All-Ohio. He was also recognized as Lorain County MVP and MVP of the state championship game in 2003. In both basketball and baseball, he was a two-year starter for the Shoremen and team captain. Following this successful career at Avon Lake, Matt joined the Purple Raiders of Mount Union University. His football abilities enabled him to earn recognition as a two time All-OAC and two-time All-American Division 3 . During Matt’s tenure, Mount Union was the national champion his junior year. Following college, Matt began his coaching career with stops at Mount Union, Notre Dame College and Beachwood HS. He is currently the Head Football Coach at Avon Lake.
